Lana obtained her undergraduate degrees in Economics and Business from Southern Methodist University in 1986. Lana obtained her law degree from Texas Tech University in 1989. Thereafter she joined the law firm of Geary, Stahl & Spencer in Dallas where she practiced in the Real Estate section of the firm. Lana also successfully prosecuted over 60 cases to a verdict with the Lubbock County District Attorney's office where she managed her own felony court docket.
